Classes

The focus of Hot Yoga at Yoga Tropics is to heal and maintain the physical body by balancing strength and flexibility, leading to a happier, healthier life.  Our classes are designed to stimulate each organ, gland, muscle and system of the body through a comprehensive system of practical health-maintenance and disease prevention.  A dedicated and consistent practice at Yoga Tropics will reverse the effects of aging, regulate metabolism, reduce the effects of stress and strain, and help to reduce chronic pain.

Hot 60
All Levels.  Tropics 1 is our entry level class appropriate for beginners as well as continuing students. You will discover a complete physiological cleanse as well as many healing benefits. The room is heated to approximately 104*F with a sequence of approximately 26-30 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The series derives from blending elements of the Bikram hot yoga with Vinyasa sequencing. This class addresses every area of the body and helps restore optimal health and balance to the organs, tissues, and bones.

Hot 75
All Levels.  This class follows the same format as Tropics 60 min class, but is extended to allow for additional or alternative poses. The class is also slower paced allowing for deeper holds.  Hot 75 is an excellent way to deepen your practice or to increase your endurance. It is also a nice alternative for those who feel rushed by a 60min class or for those who enjoy the Tropics flow but would like to learn other variations and new poses.

Tropics 2
Level 2.  This is an intermediate take on the Hot 60 class. Vinyasa style (so a lot of movement) flowing from one pose to the next. This class explores basic arm balances and inversions. Perfect class for those who are comfortable with Hot 60  and would like to deepen their practice.

Heated Vinyasa
The word vinyasa describes “breath synchronized movement”, in other words, with every inhalation and exhalation there is a movement of the body. Our heated vinyasa classes involve a lot of movement, or flowing with your breath. Compared to the Tropics 1 class (where there are a few pauses in between poses), the vinyasa classes tend to flow all the way through. The class is different each time depending on what the teacher choreographs for the class. These are very fun classes allowing you to explore new transitions through poses, new ways to move, and what your body can do! Levels 1/2 are appropriate for beginners, Level 2/3 are appropriate for intermediate and advanced.

Power Vinyasa Yoga
Level 2. Baptiste Power Vinyasa offers a different kind of yoga practice. It’s based on intuition rather than tradition. Power vinyasa offers more than the familiar poses and breathing techniques; it offers a way to face life with renewed personal strength.

Hot Yoga Sculpt
All Levels.  Mix up your yoga routine with a sculpting, strengthening yoga sculpt class! 60min of vinyasa that incorporates light weights to chisel your body. Great compliment to your yoga practice as it builds core strength and endurance. All levels.

YoQi
All Levels. pronounced “yo-chee”, this style blends the beautiful disciplines of kung fu forms, yoga, and qigong. Taught by kung fu martial artist and yogi, Andy Totman, this practice brings together strength, control, and balance in a mindful, moving meditation.
